Lexus LS and LC Cruise into the Windy City for 2017 Chicago Auto Show
CHICAGO, February 3, 2017 – Following its global debut last month, the all-new 2018 Lexus LS is coming to the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place, Feb. 11-20. The new LS reflects a strong, uniquely Japanese identity and approach to luxury, and it is expected to carry the buzz from its Detroit show debut into Chicago.

NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2017 — Lexus International today announced the 12 finalists for the Lexus Design Award 2017. Three finalists based in the USA were selected, marking the first time designers from this region have advanced to the final round. First launched in 2013 to help stimulate the ideas necessary to build a better tomorrow, the Lexus International Design Award is celebrating its fifth anniversary. The competition supports up-and-coming designers and creators worldwide. Lexus Design Award 2017 drew 1,152 entries from 63 countries under the theme of “Yet.”

3GT Racing’s No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3 finished 14th in the GTD class (36th overall) in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, marking the debut of the RC F GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Lexus’ return to North American sports car racing. Drivers Robert Alon, Austin Cindric Dominik, Farnbacher and Jack Hawksworth piloted the No. 15 Lexus entry.

The Rolex 24 at Daytona will mark Lexus’ return to North American sports car racing as 3GT Racing fields two Lexus RC F GT3s in the GTD class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Lexus raced in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series from 2004 to 2009 when the manufacturer won 25 races, two driver championships (2004, 2008) and three-straight Rolex 24 at Daytona victories (2006-08). Since its Grand-Am era, Lexus has competed in off-road racing, endurance events and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and now returns to sports car racing to develop its racing culture and learn technologies that transfer to its F and F SPORT production vehicles. (Jan. 23, 2017) — Two new flagship vehicles will join the Lexus lineup this year, each uniquely confirming Lexus' passion for brave design, imaginative technology, and exhilarating performance. The first-ever Lexus LC 500 and LC 500h performance coupes and the completely redesigned Lexus LS 500 luxury sedan take their place at the pinnacle of Lexus' extensive product lineup.
To celebrate the next chapter in Lexus' history, the company today unveiled a 60-second extended version of its Super Bowl spot featuring the LC, as well as a few surprises. The spot, titled “Man & Machine,” recognizes the parallels between the shapes and movements of the human form and the power and athleticism of Lexus' most premium models. The spot features movement artist Lil Buck and music from chart-topping recording artist Sia. A 30-second version of “Man & Machine” that also includes the all-new LS 500 will air during the second quarter of Super Bowl LI on Sunday, Feb. 5.
