WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (June 29, 2026) – Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat led 83 laps in the Vasser Sullivan No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 to claim the GTD PRO win in Sunday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Aaron Telitz, Benjamin Pedersen and Frankie Montecalvo earned a top five result in the GTD class with a fourth-place finish in the six-hour endurance event with the No. 12 Lexus.

Hawksworth won the pole position on Saturday, his 16th career top starting spot behind the wheel of the Lexus RC F GT3 and 17th career IMSA pole, breaking IMSA’s modern era pole record previously held by Ben Keating. He led the entire opening stint before pitting during a full course caution and rejoining in third place. Hawksworth held his ground in the top three before Barnicoat stepped into the No. 14 Lexus with a well-timed pit call right before another full course caution, cycling him back out in second. Shortly after returning to green, Barnicoat took the lead and stayed in the lead until returning the car to Hawksworth for the final stints of the race with an hour and 20 minutes remaining. Hawksworth returned to the track in fourth place and made quick work on his fellow competitors and found himself back in the lead on lap 135. The No. 14 Lexus made its final pit stop with 54 minutes remaining in the race and Hawksworth drove an impressive final stint to cross the finish line first in class after the checkered flag flew.

The win marks the 19th for the Lexus RC F GT3 in IMSA competition and the 17th for Vasser Sullivan. It is the first win of the season for the No. 14 Lexus and the second win for the Vasser Sullivan team after the No. 12 was also victorious on the streets of Long Beach in April.

In GTD action, Montecalvo started the six-hour race from third and ran consistently inside the top five during his double stint. Pedersen then took over the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 and ran in the top three for most of his time behind the wheel until a pit stop under caution dropped the 12 back in the running order due to the pit cycle. With just over two hours remaining, Pedersen made a green flag stop and handed the car over to Telitz for the remainder of the race. Telitz made his way back up to fourth with two hours to go when he was unfortunately forced to serve a drive through penalty for making contact with a fellow GTD competitor that was a lap down. Telitz worked his way back up to the lead late in the race however the No. 12 needed to stop for a quick splash and go of fuel with under 10 minutes remaining and went on to finish fourth in the GTD class.

Lexus and Vasser Sullivan next compete in a sprint race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday, July 12. To keep up with all the racing action, follow @GAZOORacingUSA on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Vasser Sullivan Driver Quotes
JACK HAWKSWORTH, No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3
How were you able to get the win today at Watkins Glen?
“We had an amazing Lexus RC F today. It was fantastic all race long and we had a lot thrown at us throughout the whole race. Sometimes we were back down to fourth and then we would come back through to the lead. The Vasser Sullivan team just did an amazing job. Every pit stop was perfect, and our Lexus was fantastic and Ben (Barnicoat) drove unreal today. It was just a fantastic day. Everybody did their job.”

BEN BARNICOAT, No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3
Will this win give you some momentum going into the rest of the year?
“Yeah, absolutely. It’s been a long time coming. I’m so proud of everyone on this Vasser Sullivan and Lexus Racing team. We’ve had a lot of pace and done a lot of great things on this team, it just all hasn’t quite clicked. I felt like we could’ve won on a lot of other opportunities this season, but it just hasn’t worked. I felt like it was our day. I’m really proud of everyone on this Vasser Sullivan team and my teammate Jack (Hawksworth). We’re closing the points gap and we’re coming back.”

AARON TELITZ, No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3
Can you talk about your race today?
“Overall, a great race today for the Vasser Sullivan team. It was a really hectic race out there and our Vasser Sullivan crew did a great job. Our Lexus RC F GT3s had pace, both up toward the front and in contention for the win all race. Congrats to the 14 guys for getting the win. On the 12 side, man, I’ll tell you what, we kind of got our race ruined by a lapped car toward the end of the race who was blocking us and we ended up making contact and we got a drive through for it, but that’s racing. We battled from the back of the GTD field and finished fourth, nearly getting on the podium the last couple laps. It was a good day for the championship, and the 12 boys are excited to head north of the border so we can get back on the box.”

BENJAMIN PEDERSEN, No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3
How was your race?
“A bit of a bittersweet day for the 12 Lexus. Everything was looking super promising the middle of the race. Got the car handed off from Frankie (Montecalvo) to me and hopped in around P5 or P6 and got all the way up to P2. Really looking good for the tail end of the race. Unfortunately, from there we had a drive through penalty once Aaron (Telitz) hopped in with a bit of contact with a lapped car. That put a big dent in our race, and we needed one more caution and we didn’t get it and ended up crossing the line P4. Still was a great points day for us as a team. Huge congrats to the 14 team on the win. All in all, P1 for the sister car and P4 for us. It was a good day at Watkins Glen for our Vasser Sullivan team. Looking forward to the next one and keeping the championship fight alive.”

FRANKIE MONTECALVO, No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3
How was your race today?
“Another Watkins Glen is in the books. The Vasser Sullivan team did everything right. Sadly, we finished P4. We had a good race car and had a good shot at a podium and a race win but today just wasn’t our day out there. Congratulations to the 14 car for the win. Aaron (Telitz) and Benjamin (Pedersen) did a phenomenal job out there and we were in it from start to finish. On to the next one.”
