ALTON, Va. (Aug. 24, 2026) – The Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 entries both earned top-10 finishes in Sunday’s GT-only IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at VIR. Provisionally, Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat finished seventh in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 in GTD PRO competition while Aaron Telitz and Benjamin Pedersen earned a ninth-place result with the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 in the GTD class.

Hawksworth started 10th in the GTD PRO class and ran the first two stints of the race behind the wheel of the No. 14 Lexus. He worked his way to fifth after an early pit stop moved the No. 14 up the running order for the second stint. Hawksworth pitted on lap 50, changing drivers to Barnicoat who returned to the track in the eighth position. Shortly after, the No. 77 Porsche made contact with the No. 14 Lexus, forcing Barnicoat off the track. He fell back to ninth place due to grass collected on his grille, and the No. 77 was issued a drive through penalty for incident responsibility. Barnicoat moved back up to eighth following that penalty being served and he went on to finish seventh in GTD PRO when the checkered flag flew.

In GTD action, Telitz started sixth in the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 and moved up one spot to fifth place before Pedersen took over driving duties on lap 20 for the middle stint of the race. Pedersen ran among the top six before pitting on lap 49 as Telitz jumped back into the Lexus for the closing stint, going on to finish ninth.

How was your race?
“Overall, it was a really tough weekend. We lacked some performance and some pace. We went off strategy there and it was working pretty good. The last pit exchange we were so close with a couple of cars, and we were battling with the Porsche and BMW and we just cleared them. Then, the Porsche ran into the side of Ben (Barnicoat), and we lost a lot of time to the No. 1 in that incident. Just a tough weekend altogether. The guys did a good job overcoming the adversity with as much as we could control, and we’ll go back and see if there’s anything we can learn for the next one.”

How was your race today?
“A very challenging weekend here at VIR, but not through a lack of effort from everyone. Obviously, qualified in 10^th so that showed we were struggling for a bit of pace. Jack (Hawksworth) and the engineers pulled off a great strategy to sort of get us to mid-pack which was pretty remarkable. We came out into a pretty thick battle in that last hour there, which was pretty fun to be a part of until it wasn’t. The Porsche made contact, sending me off, and without a yellow, that made anything more than a P7 unlikely. I’m disappointed it ended that way after a pretty heroic strategy and start of the race from the Vasser Sullivan team and Jack. Just a tough weekend from start to end here at VIR.”

How was your weekend at VIR?
“All around just a tough weekend for the Vasser Sullivan SealMaster teams and our Lexus RC Fs. We lacked pace in qualifying, and from the drop of the green flag to the drop of the checkered flag we just didn’t have what we needed, which was a bummer. Our Vasser Sullivan team never stopped trying though. We ran mid-pack a lot of the race which is a lot better than where we should’ve been which was great. We came away with another top 10even when we’re struggling. We’re going to regroup and we’ve got two races left to finish strong this year.”

What was your experience like racing the Lexus RC F GT3 at VIR?
“It was a tricky day for both Vasser Sullivan Lexus teams today. We struggled with rear deg. in the heat of the day here at VIR. Painful to see our competitors run upfront this weekend. We may have been able to improve our car a little bit here or there, but it was a tough one this weekend. We’ll go back to the drawing board and see how we can improve on ourselves and be even more tidy for Indy.”
