Double Podium Day After No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 Finishes Second in GTD Class

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada (July 13, 2026) — Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat led 78 laps in the Vasser Sullivan No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park to claim their second straight GTD PRO win on Sunday. Aaron Telitz and Benjamin Pedersen also earned a podium finish in Sunday’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race with a runner-up result in the GTD class to give Vasser Sullivan Racing a double podium effort in Canada.

Hawksworth started Sunday’s race sixth in the GTD PRO class and got the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 into the third position before turning driving duties over to Barnicoat following a great pit stop for four tires and fuel. Barnicoat got the lead within the first lap back green and led the entire stint before making his final pit stop on lap 65. He returned to the track in P8 but cycled back to the lead by being the first to pit, gaining back positions as competitors cycled through their stops. Barnicoat went on to lead the final 47 laps before crossing the finish line first in class.

The win marks the 20th for the Lexus RC F GT3 in IMSA competition and the 18th for Vasser Sullivan. It is the second win of the season for the No. 14 Lexus and the third triumph for the Vasser Sullivan team after the No. 12 was also victorious on the streets of Long Beach in April.

In GTD action, Pedersen started third in the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 and also made his way up to the GT3 lead prior to a pit stop under caution, leading 12 laps. Telitz then took over the No. 12 Lexus in the second position and ran among the top three prior to his final pit stop on lap 65 when he returned to the track in eighth after being the first GTD competitor to pit. The No. 12 cycled back up to second with an hour to go in the race after all competitors completed their pit stops and Telitz held on to the runner-up result after the checkered flag flew.

The second-place finish is the second podium result of the 2026 season for the No. 12 Lexus after they were victorious at Long Beach in April.

Lexus and Vasser Sullivan next compete in a six-hour endurance race at Wisconsin’s Road America on Sunday, August 2. To keep up with all the racing action, follow @GAZOORacingUSA on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Vasser Sullivan Driver Quotes
JACK HAWKSWORTH, No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3
What does it mean to get the win today at CTMP?
“I couldn’t be prouder of this Vasser Sullivan team and everyone here. It was just perfect execution to get us the track position and then a flawless day from everyone. I couldn’t be prouder of Ben (Barnicoat) and couldn’t be prouder or the team. Super stoked and we’re excited for the rest of the year. This was a track which I’ve never won at, and Lexus has never won here, so we just ticked that one off. Finally conquered Canada and now we’ll go off to the rest of the tracks. We’ve got VIR, which we’ve never won at so maybe target that one. We’ll go and have some fun and win some more races.”

BEN BARNICOAT, No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3
How does it feel to get the win today at CTMP?
“Sulli (Sullivan) summed it up perfectly – I think me and Jack (Hawksworth) did a great job, but a lot of that was on this Vasser Sullivan team and the strategy. Our leader Geoff Fickling called an awesome race, got us the track position and then there was no turning back. Incredibly proud of him and Dwight (Brown) our strategist as well. The car is fast, but I actually don’t think it was the fastest one out there today. We just did the best job, and it was an awesome ‘together’ win.”

AARON TELITZ, No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3
How were you able to get the second-place podium finish today?
“Obviously, a great team day all around. The 14 car winning here – the first win ever for the RC F GT3 at Mosport. It’s one of our better tracks on the schedule so it’s kind of wild that it took us this long to get it. Congrats to the 14 boys. On the 12 side, we had a great, clean race. Benjamin (Pedersen) did such a great job at the start getting us up there into first place at the stop and then just getting jumped there in the restart and falling back to P2, we just settled in and that’s all we had. A great championship day. We closed in on the championship gap, and I can’t wait to get to my home track at Road America in a few weeks.”

BENJAMIN PEDERSEN, No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3
What does it mean to have such a successful day today at CTMP?
“It was an overall great day for the 12 car. P2 and closed up the points to P1 in the championship. A great championship day and a huge congratulations to the Vasser Sullivan team with our sister car, the No. 14, for the win. Overall, a great day for Lexus and Vasser Sullivan and already looking forward to the next round at Road America.”
